Bittersweet

Bittersweet

Exploring typeface beyond its arbitrary shapes

About this project
The type we see today is not more than a letter on a page or on a screen. However, the type is a fruit that was designed to convey the message in its arbitrary shape. This Typo Poster started as a part of attempts to show the hidden graphics capability in type beyond its arbitrary in semantic capacity by convert digital typeface into the analog world using materials from everyday life. (I chose the word ‘bitter’ to work on it and made the word with molten sugar so the meaning of the word contradicts to the material used.) I used ITC Garamond for the typeface.
