Ju + Typeface
A versatile and space-efficient sans-serif typeface inspired by Neo-Grotesk and Geometric typefaces.
During my senior year at VCU, I decided to design a versatile sans-serif typeface, which can hybridize the stability of Neo-Grotesk typefaces with the minimalism of geometric typefaces.
The biggest challenge of this project was maintaining the letters aesthetic and space-efficient at the same time.
Because, when the letters (especially “o”) are squashed, they created the ugly curves.
I spend a lot of time adjusting every anchor points to make the natural curves and beautiful joints to make the letters beautiful and fully functional.
Created a typeface available in 6 weights – Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold and Black – as OpenType format and includes alternative a’s and support Latin based languages.
